The son of migrant ad execs, Gavin was introduced to the true meaning of “deadlines” and “child labor law” when, at the tender age of 12, he was required to cut and frisket film for animated commercials. “Another thing my father taught me was how to develop a creative ‘concept’ based on an idea - then prove the validity of that concept by pushing the idea beyond its theoretical limit.” And since partnering with Dave Martino in 1996, those lessons have been put to good stead. While he has held many roles within the agency, sharing in strategic planning, creative development, and account management responsibilities, the one he enjoys the most is interacting with both clients and staff to make every idea work a little harder.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Arizona, Gavin began his career in Tucson, Arizona as President of Impact Communication Design, a marketing communications agency.  He later worked as a copywriter and marketing manager with Group Four Design in Avon, Connecticut, where he serviced such accounts as Reebok International, Panasonic, Craftsman Mechanical Hand Tools, Cheeseborough-Ponds, Ingersoll-Rand and Bausch & Lomb.

Gavin’s interests include attending the performances of obscure funk bands playing loud, unpopular music at small, out-of-the-way venues recently cited for health code violations. He also enjoys cooking and fishing gnarly stuff out of his in-ground pool- with one thing having nothing to do with the other. Or so he claims.
